Sound Precedes Manifestation

Think about it, almost everything with great power is accompanied by great sound.

The sound made by the Krakatoa volcanic eruption in 1883 was so loud that it ruptured eardrums of people 64 km’s away and was heard more than 4500 km’s away. The Victoria Water Falls is classified as the largest sheet of falling water in the world. Well, you can hear the noise from a distance of 40 kilometres. You can hear the roar of a lion from 8 kilometres. Thunder can be heard from 16 kilometres. There are more things with great power that is accompanied with great sound- trains, chainsaws, aeroplanes, tornados, waves crashing, etc. Please add to the list. Oh, one sound I want to add is the sound of a Mustang Shelby GT 500, 5.8 litre supercharged motor- oh boy, the sound of pure power!

Sound does not only accompany great power, sound precedes manifestation. Ever saw a fighter jet before you heard it? To think of it, the cracking sound of a jet breaking the sound barrier is a scary thing to witness.

Sound…

God used sound to create everything we see. He did not “form” light, He spoke it into being. Sound preceded creation, it preceded manifestation. Read Genesis 1 again, it is full of the phrase “and God said”. God spoke, and everything responded to the sound of His voice. Let’s go a bit deeper for a moment. God speak to the thing holding its potential. After God ordered the light, water and earth (ground) to be where He wants it to be, He turned His sound towards them and spoke to the thing holding the potential.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:11-12

God did not create the trees by just speaking it, He spoke to the earth that was holding all the potential to bring forth trees. Not satisfied with what I say? Read on: “And God said, Let the waters bring forthabundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”Genesis 1:20, 21

God spoke to the earth and it brought forth trees. God spoke to the waters and it brought forth sea-life. Study the Scripture, it is amazing! The awesome thing was, when He made us, He turned to Himself, because we are made in His image, we are God’s potential! And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26

Words create!

“…and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, But by the same wordthe heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. 2 Peter 3:5, 7

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. John 1:1-3

Sound…

As image bearers of God, God wants us to understand that things happen because we speak it forth. He already released all the potential that we need to be successful in all of life. As co-creators, we do not create per se, we are calling forth the potential of the things holding it. And He has placed the power of life in our mouths. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Proverbs 18:21

As God’s body on earth, there is power when we release a sound. That is why Jesus said that we will be judged by every idle word coming out of our mouths (Matthews 12:36-37). Even our faith is dependant on our words: “Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.” Mark 11:23. When we speak as body of Christ, we have backing on earth. (“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthews 16:19)

Let us look at some known biblical examples of sound preceding manifestation or breakthrough:

“’Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you.”

And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say, “Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever.” And when they began to sing and praise, the LORD set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed. 2 Chronicles 20:16-17, 21-22

The sound of singing and praise preceded their victory.

“And when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, everyone straight before him.”

And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for the LORD has given you the city.”

So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city. Joshua 6:5, 16, 20

This was the actual strategy God gave Joshua to seize Jericho: Shout! The shout preceded the falling of the city walls. What a sound!

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.” So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. Ezekiel 37:1-10

What a picture! Again- God commanding man to release a sound. As soon as the sound of prophecy was released it was joined with a supernatural sound. And again, the sound preceded the manifestation.

My last example is when the sound of heaven joined the sound from earth united, and the church was birthed. That birth was not only preceded by sound- it was the joining of Christ and His body, making us the fullness of Him on earth; making us the legal voice through whom God speaks on earth.

All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer (the sound of faith), together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. Acts 1:14

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. And they were amazed and astonished… Acts 2:1-7

“And at the sound the multitudes came together”. Thousands of people came because of the sound!

Sound precedes revival!

When I prayed and asked the Lord in September how to invade, occupy and transform in 2020, He clearly said: Invade the airwaves!

In previous seasons, the enemy attempted to steal our sound. He never took our victory, he cannot, but he silenced our sound. We became silent- too silent. It is time for the church to be heard: the sound of praise; the sound of justice in the world; the sound of victory; the sound of prayer; the sound of encouragement; the sound of heaven invading earth.

Let me tell you, God rides on the sound we make. He inhabits our sound (praises). When is the most appropriate time for a sound to be released? When it is silent. When you see no activity, no movement, it is time to release a sound. We do not wait for God to move, then we respond with a shout. The sound precedes the movement.

The Bible said: Let the weak SAY, let the poor SAY! The sound you have been making in the previous season is unlocking the potential of the things you proclaimed.

I am telling you by the Spirit of God- RELEASE THE SOUND. Speak to the dead bones. Prophecy. Can you hear the sound of an abundance of rain? We are God’s mouth on earth. It is time to hit the airwaves with a sound of faith. Speak life. Speak life. Release the sound. There is a sound of war. There is a sound of victory. Sound first, manifestation follow the sound. Do not wait anymore, release the sound. God has placed desires in your heart, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Speak it forth. It is time to decide and decree. (You shall decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the light of [God’s favour] shall shine upon your ways. Job 28:22)

The enemy (the defeated foe) cannot dictate our lives anymore. We are not under his control. No, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, no. Your authority is in your mouth. It is time to tell the defeated foe- NO MORE! It is time to say to the mountain- be moved and be cast into the see (Mark 11:23).

“Then he said to me, This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts. Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward the top stone amid shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’” Zechariah 4:6-7

It is time to create again. Release the sound. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3

I want to end this correspondence with the lyrics from an old Hillsong United song:

The enemy has been defeated

Death couldn’t hold You down

Gonna lift our voice in victory

Gonna make Your praises loud

Shout unto God with a voice of triumph

Shout unto God with a voice of prais

Shout unto God with a voice of triumph

We lift Your name up, we lift Your name up

Psalm 47:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Clap your hand, all you peoples; shout to God with the voice of triumph.

Release the Sound!
